Abstract

This article presents some reflections on the concept of financial education and its importance in the initial formation of the human being, the result of a bibliographic research carried out, aiming at the execution of the Project "Learning to deal with money" carried out in the year 2021 at the State School Professor Maria Sebastiana de Souza, in the municipality of Primavera do Leste, state of Mato Grosso,  being applied with the night class of the 1st year of High School. It consisted in the development of theoretical and practical classes related to the study of Financial Mathematics, using as reference the book "Learning to deal with money". However, five meetings were organized: in the first four meetings the theoretical contents of the book were worked out, and in the last one a Financial Mathematics fair was developed, putting into practice what was learned in the classroom. The results were extraordinary, exceeding expectations, since all students participated, interacting in the activities, both in the theoretical classes, as well as in the practical ones.

Author Biographies

Dominique Junior Vais

I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the Centro Universitário Internacional in 2020, and I am currently studying Control and Automation Engineering at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Mato Grosso - Campus Primavera do Leste. I have a broad academic background. Additionally, I have specialized in Mathematics and Physics Teaching Methodology, Technologies and Distance Education, Educational Management (Direction, Coordination, and Supervision), Financial Mathematics and Statistics, and Teaching for Professional and Technological Education at IFMT. I have actively participated in extension projects such as "Industry 4.0 in Schools," "Inclusive Robotics," "COOL ROBOT: Integrating the Federal Institute and Children's Home," "Teacher Training: The Perspective on the Use of Educational Robotics," and "Robotics at APAE." Furthermore, I am involved in ongoing research projects at IFMT. Currently, I hold the position of Coordinator of the Pre-Enem Digi@l at the General Directorate of Education (DRE) in Polo Primavera do Leste - MT, where I have the opportunity to contribute to students' success in the National High School Exam (Enem) through digital actions. I am committed to continuing my professional development and expanding my knowledge in the field of education.
