Abstract

This work deals with the emergence of the pandemic of the new Coronavirus in Brazil and in the world, explains what were the consequences of the spread of the COVID-19 virus and what were the challenges faced by the working and entrepreneurial population. In addition, this research brings together the main measures to combat the pandemic adopted by the Brazilian Government, with the aim of preserving workers' jobs and income and also curbing the impacts on the country's economy. Finally, a jurisprudential analysis carried out based on the decisions extracted from the Regional Labor Court of the 4th region of Rio Grande do Sul is presented, due to the institutionalization of the labor measures provided for in MP 927, MP 936 and later in Law 4,020 of 2020, with regard to the modalities of service provision, payment of wages and severance pay, reduction of working hours, among others. To carry out this study, the documentary and bibliographic research was used as methodology. The method, in turn, was based on qualitative research, carried out through exploratory investigation with bibliographic, legal and jurisprudential survey.
