USE OF ACTIVE METHODOLOGIES IN TECHNICAL NURSING TEACHING - BLIND TECHNIQUE OF HAND HYGIENE

Abstract

Objectives: Discuss learning strategies in teaching Fundamentals of Nursing; Identify which strategies have a better understanding for technical nursing students; Employ active methodologies in teaching nursing practices. Material and methods: The present work starts from a report of experiences where, the professor of the discipline, brought to the class the proposal of active teaching methodologies, the methodology of blind practice was used, where the class was taken to the laboratory in groups , sealed with eye patches, where the group washed their hands with gouache paint. Results: Upon completion of the washing, the sales were removed so that they could glimpse the places where it was without paint and, consequently, the correct cleaning was not carried out. Subsequently, the formal assessment of the subject was applied, which demonstrated a significant learning experience by the class. Conclusion: To achieve improvements requires a change both in the Health System and in the individual behavior of professionals involved in it, as health professionals, we are educators and, as such, we must dedicate ourselves to critical and reflective training based on the quality of care provided.
