IMPACTOS PSICOSOCIALES DEL TRASTORNO LÍMITE DE LA PERSONALIDAD EN LA FAMILIA: UNA REVISIÓN INTEGRADORA

Objetivo: Integrar las principales evidencias científicas sobre los impactos psicosociales del Trastorno Límite de la Personalidad (TLP) en la familia. Método: Se trata de una revisión integradora en la que la búsqueda bibliográfica se realizó en las siguientes bases de datos: PsycInfo, Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System (Medline) vía Pubmed, Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS) vía (BVS) y PePSIC. Resultados y discusión: Se seleccionaron 16 estudios, cuyos resultados se integraron en dos categorías, con sus subdivisiones: impactos sociales (Comunicación del diagnóstico por parte del equipo de salud; acceso a los servicios; problemas financieros; estigma y red de apoyo) e impactos psicológicos (sobrecarga subjetiva; trastornos psiquiátricos y afrontamiento de conductas disfuncionales). Conclusión: Se puede inferir que desde el inicio de los síntomas de TPB la familia ya se enfrenta a impactos significativos, generando sobrecarga y deterioro en el cuadrante del familiar diagnosticado. Los miembros de la familia deben participar activamente en el tratamiento del paciente, lo que requiere una mayor inversión en la investigación de estrategias que puedan ayudarles a minimizar los impactos psicosociales del TLP en la familia.
