LA CORRELACIÓN ENTRE NUTRIENTES Y EVOLUCIÓN Y PRONÓSTICO DE LA ENFERMEDAD DE ALZHEIMER

Resumen

El Alzheimer es la enfermedad neurodegenerativa más relacionada con la edad, y se describen varias manifestaciones cognitivas y neuropsiquiátricas que tienen deficiencia y discapacidad progresivas. A partir de la evolución clínica de los casos, se evidenciaron otras alteraciones asociadas a la memoria y la cognición, siendo citadas como factor de retraso en la evolución de la enfermedad el patrón de alimentación del adulto mayor. Este estudio tiene como objetivo demostrar la relación entre la nutrición y la progresión de la enfermedad de Alzheimer, tanto como forma de prevención como de mejora en las condiciones clínicas de los pacientes. Metodología: Se analizaron artículos originales, cuya investigación se realizó en las plataformas electrónicas United States National Library of Medicine (PubMed) y Google Scholar (Academic Google). Conclusión: Con la evolución de este estudio, fue posible revisar, en la literatura médica, los principales aspectos que revelan el desarrollo/retraso de la enfermedad de Alzheimer y su relación con la alimentación de los ancianos. Por lo tanto, los estudios han demostrado que la nutrición está directamente relacionada con el pronóstico de la enfermedad.
