embarazo, se observan algunos cambios en el metabolismoResumen
During pregnancy, some changes in maternal metabolism are observed in order to ensure nutritional support and adequate fetal growth and development. Recent studies have observed a relationship between the intestinal microbiota and changes in the gestational period and suggest a therapeutic approach with the use of probiotics to reduce insulin resistance and improve lipid profile, including as prevention of MGD. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of probiotic supplementation on maternal metabolism, verifying the potential of lactobacillus and bifidobacterium genera in regular markers of glycemic and lipid profile of pregnant women. For this, searches were performed in the PubMed and Scielo databases, following specific search criteria. We analyzed 11 clinical trials, conducted in pregnant women with some gestational metabolic alteration through the supplementary intervention of probiotic microorganisms and with an average duration of intervention of 6 to 8 weeks, finding positive outcomes in 82% of the studies. Probiotic supplementation in pregnant women with MGD in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy, for a minimum period of 6 weeks, had beneficial effects on the expression of genes related to insulin and inflammation, glycemic control, few lipid profiles, inflammatory markers and oxidative stress. Probiotic supplementation may be a relevant therapeutic agent for patients with MGD, but that advances in further studies with pregnant women, preferably healthy ones, to evaluate the difference in lipid and glycemic profile markers is necessary to expand the information and make more in-depth comparations.
