LAGOA DO PORTINHO - PIAUÍ, BRAZIL AND ITS CONTRIBUTIONS TO TOURISM AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

The objective is to think about the guidelines and artifices of tourism in Lagoa do Portinho, and their environmental, social and economic impacts generated on natives of the area. Public tourism policies in Brazil have materialized through the implementation and execution of government action programs, having as a reference the concept that tourism is an economic activity that contributes to the generation of employment and increased revenue in locations that present potential to attract a flow of tourists. Tourism is an important social phenomenon, which in recent years has shown to be quite dynamic in Brazil, although with very substantial differences between the different Brazilian regions. Information on maximum and minimum temperature variations and thermal amplitude, relative humidity, total insolation and cloud cover and the occurrences of their monthly extremes are important for the adequacy of clothing, utensils and other necessary apparatus for a better use of the local visitation. . Tourists have to follow the tourist guide on the climbs of the dunes, because in this way they are contributing to environmental preservation and, moreover, they should not go around scattering garbage throughout the study region.
