GENERAL ASPECTS OF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF SHOTGUN CARTRIDGES AND THEIR IMPACT ON THE HANDLING OF THE CBC PUMP MILITARY 3.0 RT RIFLE WITH 16" BARREL

Abstract

This article was developed with the objective of guiding and solving doubts regarding the correct handling of the CBC Pump Military 3.0 RT Shotgun with a 16” (sixteen inch) barrel, focusing on the capacity of cartridges that can be inserted in the magazine tube of the referred weapon. The author's motivation for producing this scientific work arose from the observation of operators of the public security forces, mainly from the PMPR, who had doubts about the maximum adequate amount of Condor AM403P cartridges to be fed into the magazine tube of the aforementioned shotgun. Added to the perception that the lack of knowledge of technical details about shotgun cartridges and weapon handling, sometimes made operators use the shotgun in a way that propitiated the occurrence of shooting incidents. In order to resolve these doubts, technical aspects of shotgun cartridges are presented, as well as the specific weapon on the agenda in this study, concluding with notes on the best way to operate the CBC Pump Military 3.0 RT Shotgun with a 16” (sixteen-inch) barrel).
