PROBIOTICOTERAPIA NO MANEJO NUTRICIONAL DA SÍNDROME DO INTESTINO IRRITÁVEL: UM ESTUDO DE REVISÃO

Resumo

A síndrome do intestino irritável (SII) é um distúrbio funcional gastrointestinal que pode causar dor e distensão abdominal, flatulências, irritabilidade, ansiedade e depressão. Sua classificação pode variar de acordo com a predominância ao hábito intestinal de constipação, diarreia ou mista. Seu diagnóstico é baseado em sintomatologias e na ausência de outras doenças relacionadas ao trato gastrointestinal. O tratamento pode variar entre farmacológico, dietoterapia, e uso de suplementos, onde vem se destacando o interesse pelo uso de probióticos. O estudo objetivou verificar as repercussões do uso de probióticos no manejo nutricional de portadores da SII. Trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica narrativa da literatura, utilizando artigos científicos das bases de dados PubMed, SciELO e Science Direct, nos idiomas inglês e português, no qual foram selecionados um total de 30 estudos, sendo os 7 principais destacados em tabela. A suplementação de probiótico, associada a uma dieta equilibrada, com a redução de alimentos fermentativos, corroboram tanto com a redução e controle dos sintomas, como também na qualidade de vida dos portadores de SII.
