that emerged in Japanese cultureAbstract
Reiki is a therapy that emerged in Japanese culture, in which there is the imposition of hands to channel vital energy, in order to improve the body's natural response and assist in the recovery and maintenance of health. As of 2017 in Brazil, this practice has been integrated into the Unified Health System and offered to the general population in accordance with the expansion of the National Policy on Integrative and Complementary Practices in Health. This article aims to describe the implementation of the university extension project, Reiki for Love: Therapeutic Touch. To this end, the following axes were listed: development of a social network for dissemination on Instagram, weekly sending of Reiki at a distance, monthly open seminars on topics related to Reiki, production of videos, preparation of carousel posts for the dissemination of information about Reiki and perspectives for the project. Extension projects are important to students and the community. In the present project, especially for students in the health area, the importance stands out for them to have a more in-depth knowledge about these practices and their benefits. For the community, the importance is to bring knowledge about the subject, as well as promoting the access of more people to the benefits that can come from this practice.
