Abstract

Schools are collective dwellings with their own constructive and operational character to provide services to children and adolescents. The Mayor Joaquim Lacerda Leite State School offers educational service to a student population of 146 full-time high school students with the presence of 32 educational collaborators. Most of these students, children and adolescents, are vulnerable to emergency situations, requiring the support of adults to guide them. In this context of integrality, given its relevance to the local community, and the importance of safeguarding lives, this research sought, from the perspective of fire protection and prevention, to know and analyze situations that can generate risks or damage to people and property of the State School Mayor Joaquim Lacerda Leite, proposing interventions, when necessary. In this way, the fire prevention and fire fighting systems indicated as mandatory were analyzed and evaluated according to the parameters recommended by current legislation. The results show the school as inefficient in terms of Fire Prevention and Protection, making the emergency situation a risk to the physical integrity of its occupants.
