IMPACT OF PREGNANCY ON ADOLESCENTS ASSISTED AT THE MATERNITY SERVICE OF THE HOSPITAL MUNICIPAL DA CAÁLA FROM NOVEMBER 2021 TO APRIL 2022

Teenage pregnancy is an extremely important problem due to its high incidence and the large number of complications. Our study aims to evaluate the impact of pregnancy in adolescents treated at the Hospital da Caála from November 2021 to March 2022. This is a descriptive study, carried out at the Emergency Bank of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Municipal Hospital of Caála-Province of Huambo. One hundred (100) partograms of pregnant adolescents attended at the maternity services of the hospital in the municipality of caála were analyzed from November 2021 to April 2022 whose profile is understood as follows: 67% of adolescents their ages are between 17 years; regarding education level, 61.1% had the second cycle, while 100% were single. Regarding gestational age, 72.2% of the adolescents were 28 to 36 weeks pregnant. Regarding the obstetric history profile of the sample studied, 93% were nulliparous, while 6% claimed to be primiparous, thus, regarding the number of prenatal consultations performed, 32.2% of the adolescents had already performed the 3rd consultation, and 1.1% to 7th and 8th consultations, distributed equally. It is concluded that adolescents experience sexuality at early ages, without the use of barrier methods, which culminate in early pregnancies and exposure to risk factors, which redundantly interfere in morbidity and mortality rates due to the causes of sexually transmitted diseases.
