Abstract

Objective: to verify the effectiveness of using gamification for health education. Methods: This study is a qualitative approach, produced from January 2010 to July 2020, carried out in the following databases: MEDLINE, LILACS, SCIELO, WEB OF SCIENCE, SCOPUS, BIREME and PUBMED. Results: Articles published without restriction of language and location were included, and articles and incomplete texts that did not coincide with the object of study were excluded. Five articles were obtained that followed the inclusion criteria. The selected studies demonstrated that gamification has a positive impact on health education, especially when related to motivation and retention of knowledge addressed by this method. Conclusion: The effectiveness of the use of gamification in health education in its various areas, positively interfering in the education of the population and health professionals.
