Abstract

With the advancement of treatments and protocols in the aesthetic universe, the  search for collagen biostimulators has been growing exponentially in recent years, consequently to this popularization, there were an increase in the registration of its complications, which opens space for the use of a more natural material, obtaining similar results with much lower risks. In this paperwork, 23 articles that discussed the efficacy of autologous preparations only in aesthetic treatments were considered, bringing together the main products for use in aesthetics. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), obtained from the patient's own blood, has a high concentration of platelets and growth factors, which promotes cell proliferation and differentiation, stimulating hyaluronic acid synthesis and extracellular matrix production, triggering tissue regeneration and improving skin elasticity. From PRP, PRGF (Plasma Ritch in Growth Factors) was developed, a leukocyte-free PRP, which can be customized into high and low density gel with centrifugation and incubation techniques. Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is obtained without the use of additives, unlike the others, in which the collection is done in a tube with the anticoagulant sodium citrate. PRF is obtained in the form of a tense-elastic membrane or in liquid form, called i-PRF. Autologous products show promising results as collagen biostimulators, treating sagging and fine wrinkles and improving the skin's freshness, texture and hydration, but to define standard protocols and results, more studies will still be needed.
