Abstract

Nowadays, professional motivation has great emphasis, thus promoting a better quality of life for employees and directly influencing the quality of services provided to citizens. Good human resources management must be aware of the fact that human behavior is complex and must be analyzed according to the moment and context in which the individual lives. Therefore, it is essential for the survival of organizations to understand how motivating processes operate. The research will approach the issue of professional career progression of health professionals as a strategy for employee motivation and retention: case of the Provincial Health Directorate of Nampula (2018-2022), and aims to analyze the impacts of professional career progression on the professional development of employees of the Provincial Health Directorate of Nampula. The case study was used because it is appropriate when one intends to investigate the how and why of a set of contemporary events. The problem of motivation at work is inevitably situated in the context of the interaction of the organization's interests with the interests of the employee. The two parties engage in a partnership, in which each of them presents, explicitly and/or implicitly, their demands and requests. It should be noted that leadership is a dynamic process of influence between two parties, and it is important to note what type of relationship occurs between leaders and subordinates.
