FINANCIAL CONSULTANCY: COST CONTROL AND ITS ADVANTAGES IN CIVIL CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES

Abstract

The objective of this article is to recognize the advantages of cost control in construction companies. Specifically, the aim is to: understand the generalities and origins of cost control in construction; analyze the development of cost control activities in construction; and present the advantages offered by a good cost control system. When planning a civil project, it is necessary to know and evaluate its cost, based on the preparation of the budget. Methodologically, this is a bibliographical review research of a narrative type, with a qualitative approach, of an exploratory nature that had as a source of information books and monographs printed or made available on the Internet, in Portuguese, published between the years 2009 and 2015, which had relationship with the topic at hand. It was concluded that adequate cost control within a project offers the construction company a view of the resources that have the greatest impact on the project and, therefore, lead to better control, and that it is vitally important to have a cost management system. efficient costs that allow the company to periodically monitor the real progress of the works, which will guarantee that the budgeted margins are obtained in each project and guarantee the income that gives stability to the construction companies over time.
