Abstract

The article addresses the relationship between physical activity, sociodemographic factors and well-being among the workers of the Municipality of Cornélio Procópio, it has been observed that most people do not meet the recommendations of the World Health Organization for physical activity, which leads to several health losses such as the development of chronic degenerative diseases and risk of mortality. Sociodemographic factors, such as gender, educational level, and socioeconomic status, influence the practice of physical activity. Understanding these influences is essential for effective physical activity promotion strategies tailored to specific groups. The objective of this study was to evaluate the patterns of physical activity and sedentary behavior among workers of the Municipality of Cornélio Procópio-PR and to verify the association between levels of education and perception of health. The study has a cross-sectional design, the sample was selected by convenience and consisted of 28 workers from the City Hall of the city of Cornélio Procópio-PR. The participants answered an anamnesis to verify sociodemographic and perception factors, in addition to the International Physical Activity Questionnaire – Short Version (IPAQ) to assess the level of physical activity and sedentary behavior. From the results found, it was observed that there is an association between participants who reported less than 5 hours of sedentary behavior during the week and salary income, most reported an income of up to two minimum wages.
