Abstract

Despite its great importance, raising awareness about life and suicide prevention has become increasingly important in Brazil. With this in mind, the League of Pediatric Urgencies and Emergencies (LAUEP), the medical students of the Parnaíba Valley Higher Education Institute (IESVAP), created the Healthy Mind, Happy Child project, which aimed to take the subject to public and private schools in the municipality of Parnaíba - PI.   This research is a descriptive experience report on an extension event carried out by the Academic League of Pediatric Urgencies and Emergencies (LAUEP-IESVAP), which carried out a project based on educational actions on mental health in public and private schools for children and adolescents in the city of Parnaíba-Piauí, with the aim of raising awareness and promoting mental health among schoolchildren. The project had a significant impact on promoting children's mental health, providing a safe space for expressing and understanding emotions. The playful approach facilitated the children's active participation, encouraging them to take a leading role in their own emotional health.
