Abstract

This article aims to show the current situation of the economic impact of the fish commercialization process at the Koxi Kia Kuaba Cooperative, in the center of the city of Soyo, the region under study, as well as its income as a source of livelihood for many families in the recent decades, above all, in capture, commercialization and income generation. It was found that the greatest abundance of fish is recorded in the months of May to October, the normal period of stay on the high seas is generally 7 to 15 days and their vessels are handmade with capacity for up to 7 fishermen. Fishing is generally done by men, so women are limited to the marketing process. The methodological procedure used was qualitative, with descriptive and historical techniques through original research and relevant interviews to answer the proposed objective on the impact of fish commercialization. As a result, it can be highlighted that the cooperative's policies contributed to an increase in fishing production, generating more income for the cooperative's members and less for the fishermen and there was no change in fishing techniques, which continued to be the same, but there was increase in working hours for fishermen.
