THE IMPACT OF DIGITALIZATION AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON THE MANAGEMENT OF DENTAL CLINICS IN CUENCA: A NARRATIVE REVIEW

From the emergence of document digitization in Ecuador from the 70s to the present day together with the emergence and application of artificial intelligence (IA) several improvements have been demonstrated in terms of accuracy in customer service in dental clinics and their administration. Objectives: To determine the impact of the use of digital technologies in dental clinics in Cuenca. To analyze what type of technologies are currently used in the administration of dental clinics. Define advantages and limitations of data digitization. Methodology: This narrative review was carried out using databases such as Google Scholar, Pubmed, Scopus, Scielo, among others in search of relevant and up-to-date studies that address digitalization and the use of AI in the administration of dental clinics.Conclusion: The digitalization of dental clinic administration has generated benefits such as optimized time and physical resources; however, this comes with disadvantages such as the cost of software and electronic equipment. Dental clinics in Cuenca have easily adapted to the implementation of artificial intelligence and digitalization.
