ANALYSIS OF THE DISTANCE LEARNING MARKET IN BRAZIL AND PROVISION OF ACCESSIBILITY TOOLS

This scientific article aims to present data on the market of Distance Learning Systems (DL) in Brazil and the main assistive technology tools with a focus on accessibility available, in addition to a review of each resource and suggestions for the application of these tools in this context, providing administrative and pedagogical managers with basic reference material for the implementation or revision of accessibility policies in their Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). This expository work is organized in two stages, starting with the presentation and succinct analysis of the data published by the 2018 Censo EAD.BR, seeking to elucidate the size of this market, medium-term prospects and its practices with regard to accessibility. In a second moment, a compilation of information about the main assistive technology tools focused on accessibility currently available and that can be implemented in the context of teaching and learning, especially in Virtual Learning Environments - VLE - will be presented. The article ends with general conclusions related to the information presented and makes suggestions for technical feasibility, comparative and qualitative studies, besides economic ones to be developed in the future.
