Abstract

The global pandemic of Covid-19, which began in Brazil in 2020, resulted in the prevalence of symptoms of anxiety and depression, as it caused significant changes in the way individuals lived. The social isolation established to interrupt the transmission of the virus, made it necessary to change the usual way of teaching, with that the remote teaching modality was established in all institutions, which generated significant changes in the students’ routine. Based on this, the objective was to evaluate the psychological and social situation of students of the Psychology course at the State University of Paraíba (UEPB), as well as the impacts that social isolation caused on the emotional state of these university students. Thus, the present work constitutes a case study of a quantitative nature in which a questionnaire applied to students of the Psychology course at UEPB was used for data collection. Subsequently, the data were analyzed descriptively. In view of this, it was observed that the pandemic was significant for students to feel more overwhelmed, tense and in a bad mood in the post-pandemic period. There was also a negative repercussion regarding the performance of activities by students.
