Abstract

The violence against children and teenagers is considered a public health issue, which victims can present physical, emotional and social damages needing a import and delicate attention. Is this context, the dentist is the health professional more inclinable to identify abuse lesions which, most of the times, are located on the head or neck. This way, this literature review aims to report the relevant aspects of child abuse and point the dentist’s importance in this context, because it’s clear the importance of this professional involvement, needing the proper knowledge according to the theme for a correct situation management, which includes cases notifications. However, the dentists still have bad training in this situation, emphasizing the need for a better approach at the graduation
