Abstract

Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of aquatic physiotherapy and hippotherapy on the gross motor function of children with cerebral palsy. Methods: This study is a Systematic Review, with a sample of one hundred and forty-nine children with cerebral palsy who underwent aquatic therapy and equine therapy sessions. Results: Aquatic therapy proved to be more effective in improving gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy when compared to equine therapy. Conclusion: Aquatic therapy had beneficial effects in improving the participants' gross motor function. It is suggested that more randomized clinical studies be developed.
