Tuberculosis is an infectious disease, caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and can produce a significant level of infection in Basic Health Units (UBS), which is a problem to be solved. For this study, a bibliographic review was carried out, resulting in the choice of ten scientific works, and eight of them used the case study method, one the literature review method, and one the perspective method. Such articles shows this obstacle by presenting the risk of transmission of tuberculosis within the UBSs, and also investigate the flaws that may indicate the need for interventions related to biosafety measures. Therefore, it was possible to identify the need for adjustments in the scope of Primary Health Care, such as, for example, in relation to the physical structure, in order to make the environment appropriate to care for infected patients safely. In addition, there is a lack of training for health professionals in terms of biosafety standards and the management of tuberculosis. Thus, this article aims to emphasize the challenges experienced by health professionals, with regard to the risk of tuberculosis infection.
