Abstract

The objective was to know the contributions of studies with a phenomenological approach, carried out by nursing in the area of women's health. This is a narrative review study, with a search performed in the MEDLINE, LILACS, BDENF and SCOPUS databases, using the keyword “phenomenology” and the descriptors “nursing” and “women's health”, by selecting articles in Portuguese, English and Spanish, published between the years 2011 to 2020 and which presented the philosophical framework adopted in the methodology. 26 articles were identified. The data originated the following thematic categories: “The woman in search of assistance care”; “The woman and the feelings inherent in their experiences” and “The care provided by nurses to women”. It is concluded that phenomenological studies contribute to the understanding of the individual, woman, valuing their singularities and all the spheres that permeate their lives.
