TRAINING PROFESSIONALS AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN TEÓFILO OTONI AS A MECHANISM FOR RECOGNIZING CHILDHOOD SEXUAL VIOLENCE

Abstract

Child sexual abuse is defined as a libidinous act with an adult-centric unequal power relationship and occurs regardless of physical contact (BRASIL, 2021). It is a recurring reality in the current Brazilian population, given this, the students of the Academic League of Forensic Medicine at Mucuri's medical college have perceived intervention in public schools in the city of Teófilo Otoni as necessary in order to prevent and mitigate the recurrence of this criminal act. During the intervention, teachers from these elementary schools were trained, in lectures during the Orange May period. In this way, these professionals are able to recognize and intercede in situations of sexual abuse. The realized actions have received good feedback from the population, who were interested and grateful for the approach to the topic. Therefore, the project seeks to have a positive impact on the community, in addition to ensuring that the child population of Teófilo Otoni is protected with the ability to identify this type of violence by those trained in the interventions.
