The present work entitled "Resistance functional training and its influence on performance gain in runners" aims to evaluate, through a careful literature review, the influence of resistance functional training on the performance gain of runners. The guiding question of this study is: "How does resistance functional training help to improve the performance of runners and what strategies to optimize this process?". In search of answers to this question, several scientific studies related to the subject were reviewed. The results point to the efficacy of resistance functional training in improving the performance of runners. Among the benefits highlighted are: increased muscle strength, better balance, improved motor coordination, and injury prevention. It is hoped that this work will contribute to the understanding of the importance of resistance functional training in the preparation of runners. In addition, it can serve as a basis for future studies on efficient strategies to increase the sports performance of these athletes.
