At the heart of the economic, technological, and social transformations shaping the contemporary business environment, environmental, social, and governance practices (ESG) emerge as a crucial inflection point. This article aims to analyze the influence of these practices on business life cycles, considering various aspects such as socio-economic and technological context, company strategy and structure, environments and scenarios, productive restructuring, and demands for organizational changes. To do so, we employ the methodology of bibliographic review, specifically the narrative review typology, which allows us to understand the state of the art, enabling us to map and describe academic production in our field of interest, thus allowing conclusions to delineate the time and place of the analyzed material and indicating various cuts that can be made in research processes and their results.
