ANALYSIS OF ACTIONS AIMED AT THE DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS OF THE NEW ADMINISTRATIVE TECHNICAL SERVERS A CASE STUDY AT UFSC

A university's human resources framework represents an essential element in achieving its institutional mission. Due to the challenges faced in university management, it has to be concerned with the training of its Technical and Administrative Staff, especially during the period of their arrival and adaptation to the work environment and its demands. In this sense, this study aims to analyze whether the training actions carried out by the UFSC contribute to reducing the skills gaps of newly hired administrative technical servers in education. With regard to methodological aspects, the research is applied with a qualitative and descriptive approach, being a case study. Regarding the subjects, representatives of Technical and Administrative Staff who recently joined the institution and were allocated to the teaching units were considered, as well as their managers and representatives of the university's personnel training policy. For data collection, in addition to bibliographical and documentary research, semi-structured interviews were used as an instrument. Data analysis was performed through content analysis. The study evidenced the misalignment between the training actions offered by the institution and the skills development needs of the new server at the beginning of the exercise of the function in the new sector. It is possible to affirm that the Technical and Administrative Staff is allocated to a certain sector without first going through qualification and training processes that allow him to minimally develop the skills required to perform his tasks.
