Abstract

This research has as general objective to analyze the main causes of school dropout in the modality of Youth and Adult Education of the Fábio da Silveira Barros State School, in the municipality of Maraial and as specific objectives: to identify the causes that lead eja students to escape; describe the strategies used by teachers for teaching the modality of Youth and Adult Education - EJA and finally, to investigate possible solutions for school dropout in Youth and Adult Education - EJA. Moreover, it is important to contemplate the contribution brought by the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education - LDBEN, when in its emergence, it brought the term "supplementary education" by "education of young people and adults", thus expanding the concept and responsibility of the State with regard to the duty of care to all students included in the modality under study. Odd milestone for context. And with the desire to respond to the problem of the present research, several theorists concerned with the theme under study were used, among them, Paulo Freire, Di Pierro, Moacy Gadotti, Lakatos, Gil, among others, who contributed strongly to the theoretical foundations presented in this investigation. Regarding methodological aspects, it can be said that it is a non-experimental design, descriptive, cross-sectional and mixed-focus. As participants of this study, we had 50 (fifty) students (01 class of the III module of the EJA and 01 class of the II module of the EJA), 07 (seven) teachers and 01 (one) manager.
