Resumen

Los pilomasitomas son tumores benignos de los apéndices cutáneos derivados de las células basales de la epidermis. Por lo general, se encuentra en pacientes jóvenes sin preferencia por el sexo. Es un tumor de piel extremadamente raro. Puede afectar cualquier parte del cuerpo, especialmente la cara y los párpados. Se presentan como nódulos pequeños, solitarios y de rápido crecimiento, adheridos a la piel, pero móviles en relación con los tejidos profundos. Puede haber degeneración maligna que se llama carcinoma pilomatrixial. El diagnóstico confirmatorio es histopatológico entre las diversas patologías diferenciales de la piel. El tratamiento quirúrgico es la opción y la tasa de recurrencia es baja.
