Thus, research is done on the role of the Pharmacist in the treatment of patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus with the result of providing knowledge about the importance of this professional in the treatment of type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Therefore, it is necessary to conceptualize type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and relate the treatment of Diabetes with the patient's lifestyle and highlight the importance of the Pharmacist in supporting the diabetic patient. A literature review is then carried out. From this, it is possible to verify that the Pharmaceutical professional is a fundamental part in the treatment that contributes to a higher quality of life of the patient. It is the Pharmacist who participates in the medication orientation and the changes to be made in the patient's daily life for a better control of DM2. In this context, the quality of life factor becomes more evident among patients and health professionals. Thus, the role of the Pharmacist is reinforced, indispensable, in the multidisciplinary team responsible for the treatment of patients, by the various capacities of this professional regarding the orientation of the treatment, a crucial factor for survival and better quality of life of patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
