IMPACTO DOS TRATAMENTOS COM ALINHADORES EM ORTODONTIA: UMA REVISÃO NARRATIVA

Resumo

Os alinhadores ortodônticos passaram por grandes mudanças ao longo do tempo, sendo inicialmente confeccionados de forma analógica, com modelos de gesso, para o que é hoje, com o uso de ferramentas digitais 3D em software. O objetivo desta revisão narrativa da literatura é descrever e discutir as evidências científicas disponíveis sobre a terapia com alinhadores em Ortodontia nos últimos anos, analisando seu planejamento e diagnóstico, software, movimentos dentários, limitações e novas tendências de trabalho. Para esta pesquisa, foram utilizadas as bases de dados PubMed e Scielo com artigos de até 8 anos em espanhol, inglês ou português e publicados em revistas indexadas. Os resultados obtidos são que os tratamentos realizados com alinhadores próprios ou de empresas têm se mostrado eficazes na movimentação dentária, gerando uma alta predição na obtenção de resultados favoráveis ​​com esse método de terapia ortodôntica. Ao mesmo tempo, o diagnóstico e planejamento desses casos apresentam benefícios para os ortodontistas, porém é necessário treinar os profissionais para o uso de softwares odontológicos e mais estudos relacionados aos alinhadores impressos diretamente, pois as evidências são insuficientes para recomendações clínicas. É possível mostrar que há benefícios da realização de tratamentos com alinhadores em ortodontia no planejamento, diagnóstico e eficiência do movimento, obtendo impacto dos tratamentos ortodônticos.
