OTIMIZANDO O ATENDIMENTO ODONTOLÓGICO INFANTIL: O PAPEL DA INTELIGÊNCIA ARTIFICIAL NA ODONTOPEDIATRIA

O uso de Inteligência Artificial (IA) está se expandindo rapidamente em muitos campos da odontologia, incluindo a odontopediatria. Pesquisas mais extensas são necessárias para validar completamente seus benefícios e aplicações específicas no atendimento odontológico infantil. Este estudo realizou uma revisão narrativa da literatura sobre o papel da IA na otimização do atendimento odontológico pediátrico. Bases de dados como PubMed e Google Scholar foram consultadas para coletar os artigos relevantes, independentemente do idioma. A revisão de 31 artigos descobriu que várias técnicas de IA, como redes neurais, aprendizado profundo e aprendizado de máquina, são aplicadas em odontopediatria, mostrando resultados inicialmente promissores, mas preliminares, na detecção precoce de cárie, planejamento de tratamento e educação do paciente. No entanto, estudos em larga escala são necessários para determinar se esses avanços diagnósticos realmente se traduzem em melhores resultados a longo prazo. Além disso, a revisão destacou vários desafios relacionados ao uso da IA, incluindo viés nos dados e modelos, privacidade, ética e acesso desigual. Padrões, regulamentos e programas de treinamento apropriados são necessários para implementar a IA com segurança e igualdade. Portanto, a integração da IA na odontopediatria deve ser avaliada com cautela, considerando suas implicações clínicas, econômicas e sociais. Isso garantirá que seus pontos fortes sejam usados sem comprometer os objetivos de saúde bucal de outras crianças.
