FLUXO PARA TOMADA DE DECISÕES QUANTO ÀS RECESSÕES GENGIVAIS

A recessão gengival é caracterizada pelo deslocamento apical da margem gengival, causando um comprometimento estético e biológico. Ela aumenta o risco do aparecimento de lesões cervicais e da sintomatologia dolorosa. Uma correta classificação e um diagnóstico preciso são requisitos indispensáveis para traçar o melhor plano de tratamento para o paciente. O objetivo dessa revisão de literatura narrativa foi abordar o diagnóstico, classificações e conceitos básicos para a tomada de decisões frente ao quadro clínico de recessões gengivais. Trata-se de uma revisão de literatura narrativa descritiva a respeito dos fundamentos básicos para um correto plano de tratamento das recessões gengivais. Incluiu-se livros e artigos científicos publicados em revistas revisadas por pares, revisões de literatura, revisões sistemáticas, meta-análises e estudos clínicos controlados e/ou randomizados. O conhecimento das classificações das recessões gengivais e dos direcionamentos de um fluxo para tomada de decisão do plano de tratamento pode promover melhores resultados clínicos, além de que iatrogenias e/ou agravamentos podem ser evitados em recessões gengivais únicas ou múltiplas.
