Abstract

Breastfeeding is the process of feeding a baby with breast milk, which is considered the normative standard for infant feeding and nutrition. The research was conducted from March 2024 to December 2024, using the following health science descriptors (DeCS): "breastfeeding" AND "child health" AND "public policies"; "healthy eating habits" OR "linear growth"; "nutritional education" AND "body weight" in the Google Scholar, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and PubMED databases. Continuing research on breastfeeding is vital to identify new gaps and opportunities for intervention, ensuring that future generations can fully benefit from the positive effects of breastfeeding. Promoting a culture that values and supports breastfeeding should be a priority at all levels of society, recognizing its importance as a fundamental pillar of public health.
