NURSING PRACTICE WITH THE ELDERLY AND THEIR MEMBERS

Abstract

Health professionals, including nurses, play a fundamental role in the Family Health Strategy (ESF) scenario, as their work is aimed at promoting and rehabilitating health and disease prevention, with numerous attributions carried out by this professional in the area of performance of the health of the elderly in the ESF. The role of the nurse in the area of collective health encompasses the development of social practices related to the context in which this professional is inserted, working directly with different social groups, among which the group of elderly people and their families . In this way, the World Health Organization created the concept of active aging, defined as “the process of optimizing opportunities for health, participation and health. where there is nursing care or a health team. With the arrival of old age, the human anatomy changes a little and with the elderly it changes completely, and this becomes more visible in an elderly person. However, the anatomical changes that aging causes to individuals cannot be synthesized only in external aspects such as the appearance of wrinkles, loss of skin elasticity and the appearance of gray hair, such modifications alter body aesthetics, but do not influence the progress of activities of daily living and the daily life of the elderly.
