Objective: To identify risk factors associated with oral language in autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) in infants aged 6 to 18 months. Methods: For the selection of studies, a combination based on the Medical Subject Heading Terms (MeSH) was used. Medline (Pubmed), LILACS, SciELO, BIREME, SCOPUS AND WEB OF SCIENCE databases were used. In addition, a manual search was performed in the references of the articles included in the research and a search for gray literature in Google Scholar. The search period for articles covered the last 5 years (January 2015 to July 2020). Results: 137 articles with potential for inclusion were selected, four corresponding to the inclusion criteria and the guiding question that consisted in evaluating the risk factors associated with language in Autistic Spectrum Disorder in infants aged 6 to 18 months. Conclusion: Studies have already suggested the association of risk factors related to language development in autistic babies aged 6 to 18 months with the diagnosis and intervention of late ASD, late preterm birth and low interaction in the family environment from the first days of life.
