UNITED NATIONS (UN): PERSPECTIVES FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND LAW

Abstract

The United Nations (UN), since its creation in 1945, in a post-world war scenario, has been a pillar of International Relations, promoting dialogue and cooperation between member states. Within the scope of International Law, the UN establishes norms and treaties that govern relations between nations, promoting peace and human rights. Furthermore, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a comprehensive roadmap for addressing global challenges such as poverty, hunger and environmental degradation. Over time, the UN has tried to update itself to new global scenarios and played a crucial role in promoting peace, security and sustainable development around the world. As a research problem, we sought to identify how the UN, based on its constitution, is perceived today. The approach focused on a qualitative and quantitative approach of a descriptive nature. Through non-probabilistic research for convenience, it was found that the institution plays a relevant role in the global context. However, significant global changes and transformations have occurred, where the institution must adapt to new scenarios, as well as political and international relations issues, becoming more focused and contributory.
