Abstract

The study explores the connection between allergies, emotional factors and mental well-being, addressing the growing concern about allergic diseases as a global public health issue. Urbanization and environmental contamination play a role in this increase, while stress, whether temporary or prolonged, is recognized as an element that can aggravate the allergic response. Psychodermatology, a discipline that combines dermatology and psychology, highlights how emotional issues affect skin conditions and individuals' quality of life. The approach of this study consists of an integrative review of the literature, which examines recent publications related to allergies and emotional aspects, some inclusion and exclusion criteria were adopted. The findings suggest that the stress experienced by mothers, especially during pregnancy, is linked to a greater emergence of allergies in their children. Furthermore, individuals who suffer from allergies often deal with a significant emotional burden, which negatively impacts their mental health and quality of life. The study highlights the importance of an integrated strategy in the treatment of allergies, which covers several areas, such as dermatology, psychology and immunology. It is recommended that therapies be adopted that take into account both physical and emotional factors, including emotional management practices, to help patients cope with the stress caused by allergic attacks. This methodology can improve well-being and treatment effectiveness by considering the relationship between mental health and allergies.
