ANÁLISIS DE LAS EMISIONES DE GASES DE EFECTO INVERNADERO EN EL TRANSPORTE PÚBLICO DE CURITIBA: AUTOBUSES HÍBRIDOS BRASILEÑOS Y SOSTENIBILIDAD

Resumen

La modalidad de transporte público es uno de los principales contribuyentes al aumento de la descarga de emisiones de Gases de Efecto Invernadero (GEI). Esta investigación destaca la importancia estratégica de las tecnologías renovables en el transporte público en autobús en la ciudad de Curitiba, al sur de Brasil. El país firmó la primera Convención Marco de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Cambio Climático en 1992, y Curitiba ha apoyado esta visión de sostenibilidad desde la década de 1970, cuando el Ayuntamiento creó carriles exclusivos para autobuses y una red de transporte integrada. En la ciudad de Curitiba, en 2012, se produjo la inclusión de 30 de los llamados "autobuses híbridos" (híbridos) en la flota de transporte público de la ciudad con motor eléctrico y motor de ciclo de biodiesel, que operan con aceite diesel y biodiesel. El artículo presenta un inventario de GGE comparando las emisiones de 30 autobuses con tecnología híbrida (biocombustible y energía hidroeléctrica) y autobuses diesel. La comparación de parámetros entre los tres tipos de autobuses de combustible mostró que tales acciones para mejorar la ciudad de Curitiba pueden enfrentar el problema de los aspectos ambientales relacionados con las bajas emisiones, el cambio climático, contribuyendo a la reducción de las emisiones de combustible, recuperando los principios de sostenibilidad urbana, equidad y mitigación de riesgos para la salud. Las acciones voluntarias y las políticas de mitigación aumentan la confianza en la respuesta multilateral de los objetivos internacionales de desarrollo sostenible.
