HEALTH EDUCATION AS A CARE STRATEGY FOR HIV PATIENTS IN PRIMARY CARE

The present study aims to identify educational strategies related to health promotion for people with HIV in primary care. This is an integrative literature review. The search for data took place in the following databases: BDENF, LILACS and on the SCIELO portal, based on the health sciences descriptors “Health Education; HIV; Primary Health Care”, crossed with the Boolean operator and. The inclusion criteria were: complete articles, with the theme of care for patients with HIV, available electronically in Portuguese and English, publications with the time frame between the years 2016 to 2021. Duplicate articles, books, theses and monographs and incomplete texts. The care for people with the HIV virus must be guided by humanization and respect, using health promotion to offer quality of life and adequate treatment to these patients. It is concluded that primary care provides follow-up through examinations and clinical status, analyzing the therapeutic effectiveness and its adherence by the patient, the provision of assistance in a holistic way providing strengthening through support groups.
