Abstract

Alzheimer's is the most age-related neurodegenerative disease, and several cognitive and neuropsychiatric manifestations are described that have progressive deficiency and disability. From the clinical evolution of the cases, other alterations associated with memory and cognition were evidenced, being cited as a factor of delay in the evolution of the disease the feeding pattern of the senior. This study aims to demonstrate the relationship between nutrition and progression of Alzheimer's disease, both as a form of prevention and improvements in the clinical conditions of patients. Methodology: Original articles were analyzed, whose research was carried out on the electronic platforms United States National Library of Medicine (PubMed) and Google Scholar (Academic Google). Conclusion: With the evolution of this study, it was possible to review, in the medical literature, the main aspects that reveal the development/delay of Alzheimer's disease and its relationship with the feeding of the elderly. Thus, studies have shown that nutrition is directly related to the prognosis of the disease.
