WEAVING THE CULTURAL IDENTITY OF SÃOFELENSE AT ESCOLA PÁSSARO AZUL: A CASE STUDY ON THE RESCUE OF LOCAL HISTORY AND CULTURE IN THE EDUCATIONAL CONTEXT

Abstract

This article aims to address the theme of rescuing the cultural identity of São Félix, a city located in the Southeast of Pará, through a case study carried out at the Pássaro Azul Municipal Elementary School. The central approach of the study is to analyze how this educational institution has played a fundamental role in the preservation and revitalization of local history and culture in the educational context, contextualizing the importance of preserving cultural identity in an increasingly globalized world, where local traditions and roots are often lost. The Blue Bird School emerges as an inspiring example of how an educational institution can become an agent of rescue and strengthening of the local culture. The methodology adopted in this case study involves bibliographic research and document analysis. The results reveal that the Blue Bird School has implemented a series of innovative pedagogical practices, such as the inclusion of local history and culture in the curriculum. Additionally, the study highlights the benefits of this educational approach, including a greater sense of belonging on the part of students, strengthening the community's self-esteem, and a deeper awareness of the region's cultural richness. This case study demonstrates that it is possible to rescue and strengthen the local cultural identity through education, emphasizing the importance of integrating cultural heritage in the school environment as an effective way to preserve local history and culture.
