THE USE OF THE DECK FOR A LEARNING ABOUT RATIONAL NUMBERS

Abstract

In this article we use the deck of cards to analyze how this game can subsidize the learning of mathematics, more specifically, the learning of rational numbers, its possible representations and operations, in elementary school. For a better understanding of Math teaching and the use of educational games, we initially conducted a documental research analyzing the proposals contained in the National Curricular Parameters (PCN's) and, secondly, a bibliographical research, based on theoreticians such as Piaget. The research was carried out at Escola Municipal Professor José Rodrigues Filho, located in Lagoa da Canoa/AL, with a class of 9th grade students. Finally, it was concluded that the use of cards can be an excellent option as a resource for learning, especially Mathematics. It can be seen that the students liked the game and participated, thus having a good discussion about the subject.
